We had a super busy, fun-filled Easter. We went to my in-laws house for brunch and an Easter egg hunt. Then, we went to my in-laws church ward for sacrament meeting. They had a special Easter program and let me tell you, even with my candy cracked out, screaming, wild children, I felt the Spirit and God is good. Jesus lives. I felt that and I know it is true.
After soaking in that goodness, we went to my parents house for dinner and another egg hunt. It was crazy, but my kids were happy and I was happy that they were happy.
My husband and I didn't give our kids Easter baskets this year. Partly because I knew both their grandparents would be supplying a massive amount of candy and partly because I wanted to focus on the true meaning of Easter with our kids. We read a book about the true meaning of Easter every night before and on Easter. Carson had all kinds of questions and concerns for Jesus, but I think he learned to appreciate His sacrifice and has been saying sweet things about Christ being risen and such.
I heart these wild ones.
